SWIMMING
This is strictly prohibited at all times.
Even on a hot day the water in a reservoir is very cold and this
could kill very quickly.
Hidden debris and other hazards make it a very dangerous
environment for dogs and people alike.
Rules For Members & Visitors (Abridged)
- The fisheries open at 8.30 a.m. and fishing is permitted only from that time until the closing time posted in the Fishing Lodge, but this is not later than one hour after sunset.
- All anglers should enter Offfice and cofirm your arrival, entering your name in the Catch Register before starting to fish and complete the entry when they have finished fishing. You will have an option of completing the Catch return Online if you wish.
- Bag limits are six fish on a day ticket and three fish on a half-day ticket.
- All sizeable trout must be retained (the minimum length is 10 inches), and not returned to the water; and no angler may continue to fish during any day after they have caught their limit.
- An additional permit can be purchased after a limit has been reached if there is availability.
- A Permit is valid for one active rod and line with artificial fly floating or sunk. Additional rods can be set-up ready to use.
- Dapping with a blow line is allowed in strong winds.
- Spinning or fixed spool reels are not allowed.
- Trolling of flies behind a moving boat, spinning, and fishing involving the use of a controller or weight of any description attached to the line is not permitted.
- Ledgering on the bottom with sunk lines with static floating flies is not permitted.
- Rods or lines must not be left unattended.
- Two additional droppers in addition to the point fly are permitted (3 flies in total).
- Wading is permitted except on the dams but only up to the depth of thigh waders. Chest waders are not allowed.
- No boat shall be brought within 50 metres of any bank fisher or within 50 metres of the dam, and no boat shall be nearer than 40 metres to another boat.
- No dogs are allowed (Guide and Care Dogs on leads can be onsite with prior permission. We have resident Geese and other wildlife), no radios, bluetooth devices, no mobile phones on speaker and no littering.
